I could call it "Shots." Though, that could imply alcoholic shots. Too bad immunizations aren't as fun as those. The next time I'm at the doctor and have to get a shot, I should ask for a whiskey chaser.
Yes, I am truly an odd bird. No need to remind me.

I have a new button on the left side of my blog for Craft Hope. What is it? "Craft Hope is a faith-based, love inspired project designed to share handmade crafts with those less fortunate. It is our hope to combine our love for crafting and desire to help others into a project to make a difference around the world."
Sometimes I feel like I don't have enough time to breathe, let alone craft...but this community really calls to me. Even if you think you are not "crafty," they provide easy-to-follow tutorials.
Don't worry, my five blogger friends waiting for crafts. You have not been forgotten and I already have your projects in the works.

At Peanut's party, we put out a blue plastic recycling bag for all of the soda cans and bottles. We failed to put a sign on it (and failed to provide an equally large garbage bag). Therefore, our recycling bag was used for garbage AND recycling. Hey, at least it matched our party decor.
Am I weird for feeling guilty about throwing all that away? Or how about peering out the window at the garbage man to see if he has a disapproving look or comment?

* - Shankrabbit and I decided once Peanut reached a year, we would say her age in years instead of months. We've come across so many people that will say their child is something like "29 months old." You're not telling someone how old your child is, you are giving them a math problem.

Once they hit 18 months... I tend to give up the months thing. But 1 year is so vast!! 15 months is so different to me than 12 months or 18 months...
And no guilt allowed over the trash thing. I'm surprised your garbage man still handles the trash- around here, it's all done by a mechanical arm on the truck. Can pick up 2 giant cans at once. Kinda scary.
THANK YOU! I think 18 months should be the cutoff and after that you do years. The months thing is annoying, just like when parents of babies were still using weeks instead of months.
That's a HUGE pet peeve of mine!
oh the shots. I hate the shots. Once Gabbi didn't even flinch. She didn't cry. She was great so I figured the next time she would be too. Oh not so. The next time she turned beat red and screamed at the top of her lungs and looked at me like I was evil. haha I hate it when they have to get shots. =/
Shots screw up everything. I hate them. I want to give up months at one. I would prefer to just say he is zero years old now but society frowns on that.
I'm totally down with whiskey chasers but maybe not for your small children. If I ever have a kid and someone asks how old, I'm gonna be "oh, I can't really remember stuff like that, lemme call my husband and I'll get back to you".
@ Liz - yeah, I see your point. There is a big difference, but unless someone asks me for the exact number of months, I'll just say "she's almost a year and a half" or whatever.
@ Daddy Files - totally agree about the weeks thing! Drove us just as crazy...as soon as we were able to say "1 month" it was months from there on out.
@ Sandi - LOL. So I guess I shouldn't expect the same reaction out of Peanut each time - good to know. :)
@ Otter Thomas - HAHAHA...I wonder what looks you would get if you said "my son is zero." :)
@ Call Me Cate - yeah, I'm not proposing alcohol for children...just for me. Or maybe give a whiskey chaser to the parent while the child gets the shot?
